On February 6, 2023, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria. Thousands of men, women, and children were buried in the rubble as buildings collapsed upon them. Sadly, the death toll is currently at 41,000 and is expected to rise to over 50,000. Makeshift camps have sprung up around the country, but the condition for the survivors continues to get worse each day. International aid is slow to come, as many of the roads have been demolished. Trash is also piling up with no one to collect it.
