Dental Implants Fort Lauderdale, FL
An implant is a titanium screw that is placed under the gums and is used to provide a foundation for an artificial tooth, a permanent bridge, or sometimes even a denture.
Where a tooth is missing or needs to be replaced, an implant may be installed in place of the root. The implant takes a few months to integrate with the surrounding bone; then a post is placed over the implant and a crown made to fit the post. If a denture is part of the treatment plan, it will be custom-made and attached to implant posts.
The patient is administered anesthesia to make the procedure more comfortable and sometimes antibiotics are given, to prevent infection following the procedure. We also offer nitrous anesthesia (laughing gas) or oral sedation, if preferred.

Care of Implants
Like any dental restoration, an implant requires diligent oral hygiene and proper care to last a long time. Of course, life-long good dental health and regular dental care is very important, not just for the implant, but to maintain all your teeth.
