Dr. Charmaine Johnson, DDS

Dr. Johnson is a highly trained and skilled general and cosmetic dentist. She understands the importance of a healthy and beautiful smile on a personal level; she was inspired by her positive experience with orthodontics to become a dentist. She loves being able to change people’s lives through dentistry and she enjoys seeing her patients’ faces after placing beautiful crowns or completely transforming their smiles. She opened Premier Smile Center on East Oakland Park Boulevard in 2005, and she still practices there today. Outside the practice, she and her team take part in Freedom Day USA, providing free dentistry to veterans, support the baseball team at Westminster Academy, and have raised funds for two wells serving schools in rural South Africa. The practice joined the Florida AIDS Walk in 2017.
Education Dr. Charmaine Johnson’s
Dr. Johnson began in South Africa, earning her DDS with honors from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1995. She later moved to the U.S., completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, serving as chief resident (2000 to 2001).
She has taught as Assistant Director at UIC’s residency program and adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University. Since 2003, she has served with the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Professional Associations
Dr. Johnson has been serving on the Commission of Dental Accreditation since 2003. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Special Care Dentistry Association, and she is a founding member of the Private Dentist Association.
Publications
Dr. Johnson has an eye for aesthetics and especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry. Her research in various areas of dentistry has been published in Dentistry Today and The Journal of the American Dental Association.
