scheduleWhat determines how often you see your Dentist and Dental Hygienist?

As a Dental Hygienist at Premier Smile Center, in Fort Lauderdale, there are a few factors that I take into account, when deciding how often my patients should come back for their check-up and cleanings.  On average most people can do well with seeing us every 6 months but there are people with higher risk factors that need to come in every 3 or 4 months , or more. This high-risk group includes:

  • People with current gum disease
  • Diabetics
  • Pregnant women
  • Smokers
  • People with a weak immune system
  • People who tend to get cavities or build up plaque faster than others
  • People who are not on top of their oral hygiene

We screen for all of these factors at each cleaning appointment. Our main goal is to prevent all of our patients from having to do costly dentistry. Many dental problems like cavities, gum disease and oral cancer don’t cause pain until they are a major issue. Here at Premier Smile Center we are devoted to preventing these problems and not constantly having to fix them. Ask your Dentist or Dental Hygienist today what schedule is right for your routine dental visits.
